His older brother Joe also had a significant influence on his musical development.
After moving to California, Farrell began his career in the pop-punk band Tasty Snax, which was later renamed The Snax. It was here that he switched from guitar to bass guitar. Soon David became part of the group Xero, which transformed into Hybrid Theory and, finally, Linkin Park - one of the most famous bands of our time.
David Farrell is not only a talented musician, but also an educated person: he graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles. During his college years, he lived with Brad Delson, another member of Linkin Park, and they often rehearsed together.
Phoenix is known for his skill in playing various musical instruments, including the violin, but he especially prefers 4- and 5-string Ernie Ball Sting Ray bass guitars and uses SWR Amplifiers.
